For The Culture

Earlier on this year, my mother turned the big 5-0 #GoldenJubilee so to celebrate this milestone, we had no other way but to turn it up big time Nigerian style with a celebration party.

I wore a traditional custom-made dress which was made in Nigeria. Partnered with the dress, I wore a head-tie, formally known as the Gele which is usually worn during big events i.e. weddings, parties etc. It took about 20 minutes to have it tied and pinned securely on my head by a lady who specialises in headwear - lots of neck twisting and head shaking but we got there eventually!

Makeup was done by me - not the greatest at makeup artistry but I think I've mastered my features pretty well so I worked with the tools I had.
