It is amazing to see what happens when you go full steam ahead with an idea that was once thought and see it in reality, impacting, changing and improving the lives of those connected to the vision. The fourth Alumna Day held at Bishop’s Hatfield Girls’ School was a great success.

This is a word to all my fellow dreamers + do-ers with big ideas - just do it. Go ahead. Take that risk. Work your socks off. Believe in your giftings. Take that leap. Pace yourself. Find a tribe of people who can support you on the way. Yes, it’s overwhelming but guess what, it’s not about you. It’s about those who are connected to the vision and need your ideas accessible to them.

I truly believe that society needs more innovators. People with fresh ideas and concepts who are ready to tackle rising challenges across all sectors in society and implement structures to enable their ideas to come to life. These sectors in society include:

  • education

  • health

  • media + communications

  • government

The future of problem solving in society isn’t going to lie solely in the hands of government alone. We each play a part in what society should look like and can be the change.

Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.
— Galatians 6:4-5 [MSG]
Societies are sticky. When you try to change them drastically, the success rate isn’t great... We have to be careful in balancing bold ideas and recognizing that change happens in steps.
